Naval Academy Annapolis Wedding : Richie and Mandee

“Richie and I have been crazy-in-love since we were 15″ – Mandee

It isn’t often I photograph high school sweet hearts getting married!! Kyle and I photographed them as they got ready in their childhood bedrooms. NSync posters watched over Mandee as she prepared for the big day. It was a look back in time with his prom king sash and her prom court sash both on display as reminders of another important moment in their relationship.

It was a classic Naval Wedding with the stunning blues and whites. Photographing at the Academy seems easy because the ladies running is are so organized and there are never ending beautiful spaces to photograph people! Mandee was an absolute rock star in front of the camera! We couldn’t take a bad photo of her if we tried! Her dad did an awesome job walking her down that long isle and the ceremony had personalized vows, tears, and laughter.

I couldn’t help thinking about the two of them at Prom during the Reception and marveling at the idea that all these special and significant moments were with the same fantastic person, for both of them. I look forward to seeing more moments of the two of you together as your love and family grows! I’m going to miss you when you move away, but I know you will be back and I will be getting you back in that dress again supermodel Mandee !

I was super excited about how this turned out! Part of WPPI ( Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) is to explore yourself as a photographer and grow. What is better then a self portrait to express that! My camera is my best friend some times (no that isn’t sad) so I enjoy having a photograph of me in my element with my friend There were over 15,000 photographers at the conference this year and it really makes me think about what makes me different then all the others. The truth is that I am me! I am the only one with my eyes, my personality, and my dimples. I can only hope that my clients choose me because they love and trust my eyes and skills. Thanks to all who have chosen me to spend their special day with me in 2010 and I look forward to those who want me in 2011!

What’s Up Wedding Fair: Annapolis Wedding Photographer

I had a great time at my second time at the What’s Up Magazine Wedding Fair at the Double Tree in Annapolis! Melody from Historic Events and I shared a booth so that we could join our efforts and tell the importance of photography and planning! We always have a great time when we work together and the fair was no exception! It was a huge success because we have had tons of feedback from brides and vendors about our booth! Sarah from Intrigue did an AMAZING job making it look beautiful using willow branches and peacock feathers against a beautiful green background. We were really going for a comfortable, but chic look and I think she nailed it! Tony Lewis from What’s up sent me these photos of my booth! Thanks Tony! Looking forward to booking some of the fabulous brides from the fair!

What’s new in 2010!!

The 365 Project – A photo a day for the whole year of 2010. A photographer friend of mine, Stevie T Photography, did a fabulous job with it in 2009 inspired me to try it myself. Look forward to daily blog posts and plenty of photos to feast your eyes on! Several of my ladies from my group the AWP ( Annapolis Women Photographers) are doing it as well. I will stick a link to all of them on my blog as soon as everyone has them up and running!

Faster turn around time for Weddings and Albums for future clients! Thanks to all of you who waited the full 60 days this year! I am going to expand in 2010 so that future brides don’t have to wait as long! I currently have 11 weddings on the books for 2010 and am looking forward to filling the calendar! Album design is being done by Carla David who is fabulous and I can’t wait to work with her!

I’m on the hunt for international and national weddings! If you know anyone who is getting married anywhere in the US or Internationally send them my way! It is my goal to eventually photograph a wedding in every state and one in every continent…if possible! I am doing workshops with Dane Sanders and Susan Stripling in February! I am looking forward to being inspired and improving my skills as a photographer! There is always something new to learn and a new way to see things!
